Haven't blogged for a while.

Well, I am guilty of not blogging for a while I guess. Since last year, some good things have happend in my life. Through Facebook, I have reconnected with many friends from my past who I have not had contact with for many, many years for various reasons. Since high school my friends got married, had families and went on with their lives. Through those changes, we lost touch with each other but still kept each other in our thoughts. Circumstances have changed now in their lives which have allowed them to have more freedom. One friend, Patty, lives in North Carolina and has a daughter, Jessica. She has a crazy work schedule and just doesn't get to PA as much as she would like. I haven't seen Patty for 15 (?) years. Growing up, Patty was the sister that I never had. We shared many secrets and helped each other through lots of teenage stuff. Patty lived up the street from my Grandparents house and we were actually born on the same day. Through our high school years, we discovered two other kids that were born on the same day as well. We figure there are a couple of scenarious for this: a) since we are born the end of November, we were conceived mid to late Feb. so there must have been a power outage, a blizzard, or some other phenomenon that kept people inside with not much to do, b) there was a big party that all of our parents attended, or c) Valentine's day. I can only imagine that Nov. 24, 1968 was an extremely busy day at the Philipsburg State General hospital, as it was called at that time. The doctor must have made a nice payday from all of us being born on the same day. Patty and I like to say that we met in the nursery and that bond is what has kept our friendship going all these years. Well I will have to talk more about my boring life later. I am off to help my Mom and Stepdad unload furniture from their recent move from El Paso, TX to Brisbin, PA.
